Important Information for Seniors
Students who have reached senior status (have earned at least 90 credit hours) are encouraged to meet with the undergraduate advisor, Dr. Regina Roebuck, at the beginning of their senior year to discuss the final courses needed to graduate and to review their preliminary degree check, a document detailing the student's remaining courses, including any general electives, needed for completion of the student's degree.
To request a preliminary degree check, submit the online form at www.louisville.edu/a-s/advising/forms/. The degree check will be emailed directly to the student and the advisor from the A&S Advising Center. Students should bring the degree check with them to any subsequent advising sessions.
To graduate, students must have (a) earned the minimum total hours required for their degree; (b) earned at least 50 credit hours at the 300+ level; and (c) earned a 2.0 GPA in Spanish and a 2.0 overall.
To apply for graduation, students must complete a "degree application" in ULink by by the posted deadlines.
Students must also complete the Senior Portfolio, which contains evidence of the students’ language ability as well as knowledge of content. The portfolio is assembled in Spanish 590 (Senior Capstone in Spanish), using student work from previous as well as the current semesters. The Capstone is only offered both Fall and Spring.
Once approved for graduation, students will receive notification and can then find commencement information at www.louisville.edu/commencement/,
